For Nookal clinics in New Zealand and Australia

The right practitioner. The right clinic. Booked.

Talkify is the AI receptionist for Nookal. It answers your clinic phone on the first ring in a real New Zealand voice, works out who the patient wants to see and where, and books a real Nookal time for that practitioner at that location before the call ends.

It is front desk and nothing more. It never opens a treatment note, and it is never told why anyone is coming in.

What the agent does in your Nookal.

Every one of these goes through Nookal's own API, so your roster, your appointment types and your diary stay in Nookal where your team runs them.

Knows your practitioners and sites

Every location and every practitioner you choose to put on the phone. A patient who asks for Tom at the second clinic gets Tom at the second clinic, not the first gap in the building.

Offers your appointment types

Initial assessment, standard follow-up, extended session. You tick the ones a caller may book, and the agent never puts a first visit into a follow-up slot because the words sounded alike.

Reads free times from Nookal

Asked of Nookal for that practitioner at that location while the caller waits, so what they hear is what your diary actually has open this morning.

Books it in Nookal

The appointment is made in Nookal on the call, against the named practitioner, and shows in the diary for the front desk like any other. A new patient is added so the booking has somebody to belong to.

Moves or cancels, if you allow it

Nookal supports rebooking and cancelling. In Talkify each is its own switch, so you decide whether the agent does either or leaves it to a person.

Stays out of the clinical record

No treatment notes, no cases, no files, no invoices. The agent is given a first name and the diary, and that is the whole of what it needs to be a good receptionist.

From the phone ringing to a time in Nookal.

A patient ringing a two-site clinic before opening, walked through end to end.

01

It picks up at 7:42

Before reception is in, on the first ring, in your clinic's name. Three patients can ring in the same minute and none of them hears a busy tone.

02

It knows the voice is a patient

The number matches a patient in your Nookal, so it greets them by first name. No birth date, no history, nothing about why they last came in.

03

It pins down who and where

Which practitioner, which location, which kind of appointment. If they only know it was "the tall one at the other clinic", it asks rather than guesses.

04

Nookal answers what is free

The agent asks Nookal for that practitioner's open times at that site and reads back two or three, the way a person at the desk would say them.

05

The booking lands in the diary

Made in Nookal while the patient listens. When reception opens up at eight it is already there, with nothing to retype from a voicemail.

06

You hear what happened

A text and an email within seconds of the call ending: who rang, what was booked, and anything they asked that needs a person to answer.

Tomorrow at 7:42, who answers your clinic?

Connect Nookal once and every early, late and flat-out call gets a real answer and a real time in the diary. We set it up with you, you choose what the agent may book, and your number never moves.

Who runs Nookal, and what their phones sound like.

Nookal is built for allied health practices with more than one pair of hands, and often more than one address.

Physio and chiro clinics.

Hands on a patient all day and a phone that rings hardest first thing and straight after lunch. AI reception for physio clinics.

Initials · follow-ups

Podiatry and multi-site groups.

Practitioners who move between locations through the week, so where they are on Thursday is the whole question. The booking agent.

Locations · rosters

Psychology practices.

Where discretion matters most. The agent books the session and never asks what it is about. The same principle on Cliniko.

Sessions · discretion

Online booking covers the easy half. The phone gets the rest.

Nookal's own online bookings are good. The callers who ring anyway are ringing for a reason.

The people who ring are the ones in pain.

Somebody who has just done their back does not browse a booking page, they ring the nearest clinic and book whoever answers. An answered phone at 7:42 is a new patient and the course of treatment that follows.

Two sites, one front desk.

Most multi-site clinics run reception from one place, which means one person absorbing every line at once. The agent answers all of them together. Work out what the missed ones cost on the missed call calculator.

The Talkify difference

Built here.
Not badged here.

Most AI answering services sold in New Zealand are overseas platforms with a local logo. Talkify runs on our own local SIP network, keeps data in New Zealand and Australian data centres, and answers in voices your callers actually recognise. That changes how every call sounds, and where every recording lives.

Tell us which system you run and how your calls come in. A real person at Talkify replies, and we set the connection up with you.

What is an AI receptionist for Nookal?
It is a phone agent that answers your clinic line and works from your Nookal diary. It knows your locations, your practitioners and your appointment types, asks Nookal which times are genuinely open, and books the patient in while they are still on the phone. Talkify is built in Christchurch for allied health clinics in New Zealand and Australia: physio, chiro, podiatry, psychology, osteo and the rest of the Nookal family.
How does Talkify connect to Nookal?
With an API key you create inside your own Nookal account. Nookal lets you set the level of access for each key, so the key you give Talkify only needs to see your clinic setup, patients and appointments. Paste it into Talkify, choose which locations, practitioners and appointment types the agent may offer, and you are connected. You can delete the key in Nookal whenever you like. If the API option is missing from your account, ask Nookal whether your plan includes it.
Can a patient ask for a particular physio at a particular clinic?
Yes, and this is where a multi-site Nookal clinic gets the most out of it. The agent asks Nookal for the free times of that practitioner at that location, rather than any gap anywhere, and books the appointment against them. If the practitioner they want has nothing this week, it can offer someone else at the same site, or the same person at another site, in whichever order you prefer.
Does the agent read treatment notes or case details?
No. The agent is reception. It uses your practitioners, locations, appointment types and free times, and a returning patient's first name so it can greet them properly. It never reads a treatment note, a case, a file or an invoice, and it is never told what somebody is being seen for. It does not give health advice, and anything clinical becomes a message for your team.
Will it double book a practitioner?
The times it offers come from Nookal at the moment the caller asks, already netted against what is booked, so it is not reading from a stale copy. Nookal holds the diary, and the booking is made in Nookal itself, so the front desk sees it straight away. If a slot has gone in the meantime, the agent says so and offers the next free one rather than claiming a booking that did not happen.
Can it move or cancel an appointment?
Nookal allows both, and in Talkify each is a separate switch you choose to turn on. Moving reads the current appointment back first, so the patient and the agent agree which one it is, then books the new time from Nookal's free times. Many clinics leave cancelling to a person, because a cancellation is often a conversation about rebooking, and the agent will take a message instead.
Do I have to change our clinic phone number?
No. Talkify answers by call forwarding from the number your patients already have, on the phone company you already use. Nothing is ported and nothing is installed. Choose when it picks up: always, only when reception is already on a call, only when nobody answers after a few rings, or only after hours.

Have a look around.

A clinic day from the first call to the last, whatever practice software you run.

How the agent handles appointments all day: the changes of mind, the second choices and the reminders.

The same front desk for clinics on Cliniko, with the same line about clinical notes.

For allied health and NDIS practices on Splose, where half the callers are ringing for somebody else.

For practitioners running their diary on Halaxy, often on their own and between sessions.

Everything Talkify connects to, and what your agent can do once it is connected.
