Offsider, from Talkify · For Fergus

Every call, into Fergus.

Offsider works on your calls rather than answering them. Your agent knows who is ringing from their Fergus history. After the call, Offsider drafts the customer, the site, the quote and the visit into Fergus. Then it reads Fergus back to make sure what your caller was told is what actually got booked.

$1.00 plus GST per booked call, only when Offsider puts work into Fergus. Needs Talkify with Fergus connected. Built for New Zealand and Australian businesses.

A call on the left, the work it becomes in Fergus on the right. Nothing priced unless a price was said.

See Offsider put a call into Fergus.

The caller recognised, the work drafted, the visit checked against the diary, and Fergus read back afterwards.

Read what it says

Every call is work for Fergus. A job, a quote, a visit. Whether your agent takes the call or you do, Offsider is on it, and makes sure it all gets there.

Talkify agent: Kia ora Judy, good to hear from you. Is it time for the heat pump service again?

Caller: It is! Same as last November, please.

Talkify agent: Your agent knows each caller's Fergus history the moment they ring. Their jobs, what they cost, and the work that comes round every year.

When a call ends, yours or your agent's, Offsider reads it and drafts the work for Fergus. The customer, the site, the job or the quote, and the visit you agreed. Anything already done on the call is left alone.

Ask first, and you get an email. Untick anything you don't want, tap send, and it's in Fergus. Or set it to go straight in.

Then it checks. If a caller was told they're booked, Offsider makes sure Fergus says so too, and tells you straight away when it doesn't.

Talkify agent: And Offsider in your ear, on the calls you take yourself.

Caller: Hi, it's Sarah. We've just bought a place in Lower Hutt and the switchboard needs doing. We'd like a few more power points in the kitchen too.

Talkify agent: Sweet as. How old's the house?

Caller: I think it was built in the seventies.

Talkify agent: Check for the old ceramic fuses.

Talkify agent: Righto. Has it still got the old ceramic fuses?

Caller: Yes it has, the old white ones.

Talkify agent: And how many points were you after?

Caller: We were thinking about four. When could you come and have a look?

Talkify agent: Thursday at eight is free.

Talkify agent: I could pop round Thursday at eight, if that works?

Caller: That would be perfect, thanks.

Offsider, from Talkify. Built for New Zealand and Australian businesses. Every call, into Fergus.

Three jobs, done on every call.

Each one is a switch, set for your business. Use all three, or only the one you need.

01

It knows who is ringing

Past jobs, what they cost, work that is due and anything still open, before the caller says a word.

02

It puts the call into Fergus

Customer, site, enquiry or quote, and the visit, drafted from the call. You look it over, or let it go straight in.

03

It checks Fergus afterwards

If the caller was told they are booked and Fergus disagrees, you hear about it straight away.

Live now · Part one

Your agent knows the caller from Fergus.

When somebody rings an agent with the Memory card, the agent already knows their Fergus history. Their past jobs and what they cost. Work that comes round regularly, like a yearly heat pump service, and whether it is due. Any job that is still open.

So "same as last year" means something. The agent can ask about the unit it serviced in May instead of starting from a blank page, and a regular customer is treated like one.

  • Built ahead of time from your Fergus, matched on the caller's own number
  • No street addresses held, and nothing trains on it
  • Past prices only spoken if your repeat work setting allows it
  • Erased if you disconnect Fergus
What the agent knows as the phone rings. Matched on the number, not an address.
The Ask me first page. Untick anything you do not want, then one tap. No login.

Live now · Part two

After the call, the work goes into Fergus.

Offsider reads the finished call and drafts the work for Fergus. The customer. The site. The job, as an enquiry or as a quote with its pieces of work as quote lines. And the visit, if a day was agreed.

A quote line is only priced where somebody from your business said a price on the call. The rest is left for you to price. Anything your agent already did in Fergus during the call is left out, so nothing goes in twice, and your own Fergus settings always win.

Once it is in, the caller can be texted what actually went into Fergus. Never anyone on your do-not-contact list, and it never asks your customer to confirm anything.

Ask me first, or just do it.

You decide how much Offsider does on its own. Most businesses start by checking every draft, then let it go straight in once they trust it.

The default

Ask me first

After each call you get an email with a page showing everything Offsider wants to put into Fergus. Untick any part, then send the rest with one tap. No login, no app.

  • Every draft looked over by a person
  • Untick a visit, keep the quote
  • A draft you never send costs nothing

When you trust it

Do it

The work goes straight into Fergus as soon as the call ends. Nobody has to open an email for the job to be there when the team looks.

  • Straight in, no email to action
  • Your Fergus settings still win
  • The Fergus check still runs afterwards

Either way, a visit is checked against your Fergus diary again just before it is booked, so a time that filled up since the call is not double booked.

Live now · Part three

The Fergus check: told is booked.

After any call that touched Fergus, Offsider reads Fergus back and compares it with what the caller was told. If they were told they are booked and Fergus has no visit, the business gets an email right away and the call is marked.

It catches the wrong day, the wrong time and the visit that went in twice, too. A customer waiting at home for a tradie who was never booked is the worst kind of missed call, because nobody knows it was missed.

  • Runs after every call that touched Fergus
  • Email straight away, and the call is marked
  • A one-off look back over your last 30 days of calls, free
What the caller heard, set against what Fergus holds. A gap gets an email, not a shrug.

Coming soon

Offsider on the calls your team takes.

Coming soon, not live yet. Offsider will listen live on the calls your own team answers on our phone service. While they talk, it will put the job on screen, along with questions worth asking, free times in the Fergus diary and the quote as it takes shape. There will be an optional whisper in the ear for the moments a screen is no use.

The whisper and the on-screen help will both be off until you switch them on. Live listening will be 50c a minute while it is switched on.

Pricing

$1.00 a booked call. Nothing for the rest.

You pay for a booked processed call: a call whose work Offsider actually put into Fergus. Calls with nothing to put in are free. Drafts you decide not to send are free. The 30 day look back is free.

  • No setup fee and no monthly fee for Offsider
  • Caller history and the Fergus check included
  • Live listening 50c a minute while on (coming soon)

Frequently asked.

The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, ring our live demo agent on 03 242 1262, it'll either answer or queue a callback from a human.

How does Offsider know a caller's history before they say a word?
It is built ahead of time from your Fergus account. Offsider reads your customers and their jobs out of Fergus and keeps a short history for each one, matched on the phone number the caller rings from. When that number rings an agent with the Memory card switched on, the agent already knows their past jobs, roughly what they cost, any work that comes round regularly (a yearly heat pump service, say, and whether it is due) and any job that is still open. It holds no street addresses, and nothing is trained on it. Past prices are only ever spoken if your repeat work setting allows it.
What actually goes into Fergus after a call?
Offsider reads the finished call and drafts the work: the customer, the site, the job as an enquiry or as a quote with its pieces of work as quote lines, and the visit if a day was agreed. Anything the agent already did in Fergus during the call is left out, so nothing goes in twice. Your own Fergus settings always win over anything Offsider would have chosen.
What is the difference between Ask me first and Do it?
Ask me first is the default. After each call you get an email with a link to a page showing exactly what Offsider wants to put into Fergus. Untick any part you do not want and send the rest to Fergus with one tap. There is no login to remember. Do it skips the email and puts the work straight into Fergus. Either way, a visit is checked against your Fergus diary again just before it is booked.
Will it put prices on my quotes?
Only where you said a price on the call. Each piece of work becomes a quote line, and a line only carries a price if somebody from your business actually gave that price during the call. Everything else is left for you to price in Fergus, which is how most trades want it.
What does the Fergus check catch?
After any call that touched Fergus, Offsider reads Fergus back and compares it with what the caller was told. If a caller was told they are booked and Fergus has no visit, or the visit is on the wrong day or at the wrong time, or it has gone in twice, you get an email straight away and the call is marked so you can find it. When you switch it on, it also takes a one-off look back over the last 30 days of calls.
Where is my Fergus data kept, and who sees it?
Calls and everything Offsider builds from them are handled in New Zealand and Australian data centres, and nowhere else. The caller history holds no street addresses and nothing is trained on it. If you disconnect Fergus, the history Offsider built from it is erased. Offsider can text a caller what actually went into Fergus, but never anyone on your do-not-contact list, and it never asks your customer to confirm anything.
What does Offsider cost?
$1.00 plus GST for each booked processed call, which means a call whose work Offsider actually put into Fergus. Calls with nothing to put in cost nothing. Drafts you decide not to send cost nothing. The 30 day look back costs nothing. Live listening, when it arrives, will be 50c a minute while you have it switched on.
What if I am not on Fergus yet?
Offsider needs Talkify with Fergus connected, which takes one Sign in with Fergus, so Fergus comes first. If you are not on it yet, go to gettalkify.com/getfergus for 90% off your first two months of Fergus. Fergus is the first job system Offsider works with.
Does it work on calls my team answers themselves?
Coming soon. Offsider will be able to listen live on the calls your own team takes on our phone service, and put the job, questions worth asking, free times in the diary and the quote on screen while they talk, with an optional whisper in the ear. Both the whisper and the on-screen help will be off until you switch them on. Today, Offsider works on the calls your Talkify agent answers.
Can I switch parts of it off?
Yes. The caller history, the drafting into Fergus and the Fergus check are separate switches, and each is set per business. You can run the check on its own, or have Offsider draft everything but ask you first every time. Texting the caller what went in is a switch of its own too.
